Symwave CTO, Christopher Thomas Honored by IEEE for Contributions to 1394r-2008 Standardization Efforts Award Further Demonstrates Symwave's Innovation and Technology Leadership for High-Speed Connectivity Solutions LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. — Symwave, Inc., a supplier of high-performance analog/mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for the PC, consumer and mobile devices, today announced that Christopher Thomas, its chief technology officer and co-founder, has been selected by the IEEE Microprocessor Standards Committee to receive an award for his contributions to the IEEE1394r-2008 (commonly called FireWire(R)), 1.6Gbit/s and 3.2Gbit/s electrical working specifications. DTV 1394 Interface Updated CEA's DTV 1394 interface standard describes how set-top boxes, DVRs and other similar devices may send MPEG video to a DTV using a 1394 interface. CEA's DTV Interface Sub-committee works to keep CEA-775 up to date with the latest standards developed by the 1394 Trade Association.
